SUNKEN HOUSE BY ADJAYE ASSOCIATES
Sunken House is an excellent example of a pre-fabricated home which was erected in just five days. Constructed from Eurban's solid spruce timber panels; the residence reportedly reduces carbon dioxide emissions for every cubic metre compared with brick or block build methods.
Carbon footprint aside, I adore the window placement which wraps around the faces of the cube and the material juxtaposition of the dark timber against clear glazing.

KARL LAGERFELD'S PARIS APARTMENT
I came across these images in a back issue of Elle Decoration(April 09) whilst at work.
From these photographs of Lagerfeld's apartment (which overlooks La Seine), the designer's impeccable taste is clearly evident.
Reminiscent of Chanel's monochrome vibe; the living space has an almost surreal quality afforded by statement pieces such as Marc Newson's 'Chrome' chair and the 'Chester' leather banquette by Established and Sons.

CLOVER CHAIR
Ron Arad is renowned for his avant garde art, architecture and furniture creations and 'Clover Chair' is certainly no exception. Known for his bimorphic shapes, Israeli-born Arad has created this botanic-inspired sculpture that, due to its polyethylene material, can be placed indoors or out.
SHELL HOUSE, JAPAN
ARCHITECTS: ARTECHNIC
This private residence, located in the heart of the Karuizawa woods, looks as if it has grown right out of the surrounding landscape. The organic structure mimics the form of a shell(as the title states) and the white reinforced concrete exterior evokes the folds of a ribbon or mobius strip.

LE CREUSET CAST IRON
KING'S CROSS PUBLIC SQUARE
It has been announced today that London-based firm, Stanton Williams, has won an international competition to design the new King's Cross public square development.
At 7000 square metres, the open space will become one of London's largest and will complete Network Rail's £500m redevelopment of the station site. Addressing the immediate inner city context; the design will also free up the surrounding space for the millions of passengers who use the station each year, as well as allow more light into the interior station space.
In addition, the proposal will also reveal the 150 year old Grade II listed Southern facade.
The completion is scheduled for 2013 and I, for one, am eagerly anticipating the outcome!

ALFA ROMEO PANDION CONCEPT
Showcased at this year's Geneva Motor Show, the usual sleek and evocative lines of a classic Alfa Romeo are evident in this concept car. The modern styling twists such as the rotating doors, coupled with a Ferrari 4.7 V8 engine, complete this ultimate automotive package.
This model was manufactured to celebrate Alfa Romeo's 100th year anniversary.

TUBAC HOUSE
Rick Joy is a US architect, whose projects have predominantly involved private residences situated in Arizona. This particular house, built in 2000, is a lesson in minimalistic architecture; featuring rectangular glass boxes extruding from facades to exploit desert views. Pools surrounding the house further reflect the landscape and juxtapose with the weathered steel exterior.
DINESEN
Sourced from European forests, Dinesen floors are renowned for their unusally wide planks. I came across this Danish brand on a visit to the Saatchi gallery in Chelsea and was astounded by the colour, quality and finish of the timber. The private residence, above, is decked out in 'Dinesen Douglas'.

ANTHROPOLOGIE
At the back of Anthropologie's Regent Street branch lies a green wall; spanning three floors and boasting 18,000 plants. The living centrepiece is a real asset to the store and complements the steel and glass staircase. As well as being a strong focal point, the wall also improves interior climate. A must-visit when in London!

BARI GLASSWARE RANGE
Reminiscent of Eero Saarinen's fluid Tulip chair, this Habitat glassware range is absolutely spot on.
For as little as £5, one can purchase a veritable piece of sculpture in the form of a champagne, cocktail or wine glass.

THUNDER PERFECT MIND
PRADA PARFUMS ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN (2005)
A striking short film, shot in Berlin, by acclaimed director Ridley Scott.
An urban backdrop, a dash of provocative yet demure clothing, a sprinkling of jazz and recitation of the poem 'Thunder Perfect Mind', all combine to devastating effect.
Daria Werbowy, the renowned Canadian supermodel, shines.
